Nestled in the Berkeley and Oakland Hills, Claremont Resort & Club is committed to creating meaningful hospitality experiences while supporting the environment and surrounding community. From on property beehives and chef driven gardens to local sourcing partnerships and conservation efforts, sustainability is thoughtfully woven throughout the resort experience.
As a historic Bay Area destination, Claremont Resort & Club continues to focus on responsible practices that celebrate local agriculture, reduce environmental impact, and support the natural beauty of the East Bay for future generations.
Located on property, our two active beehives support local pollination efforts while contributing to the culinary experience throughout the resort. Each year, when conditions allow, honey is harvested directly from the hives and incorporated into dishes, pastries, and seasonal offerings across the property.
Guests may enjoy our house harvested honey featured alongside freshly baked biscuits, incorporated into signature dishes, or highlighted in select culinary experiences. The beehives also play an important role in supporting biodiversity and healthy pollinator populations throughout the East Bay.
Our Chef’s Garden features seasonal herbs, edible flowers, fruit trees, and garden beds that contribute fresh ingredients to the resort’s culinary and beverage programs. Ingredients grown on property are thoughtfully incorporated into dishes at Limewood Bar & Restaurant as well as signature cocktails served throughout the Lobby Lounge and Limewood Bar.
Fresh herbs, house made purees, floral garnishes, and seasonal accents are regularly sourced directly from the garden, helping create vibrant dishes and handcrafted cocktails inspired by the flavors of Northern California.
Claremont Resort & Club proudly partners with the Claremont Canyon Conservancy to support preservation and cleanup efforts throughout the surrounding canyon areas. Throughout the year, resort employees and local volunteers participate in community cleanup initiatives focused on protecting the natural beauty and ecological health of the East Bay hills.
These efforts help preserve local trails, native habitats, and shared outdoor spaces enjoyed by both residents and visitors.
Claremont Resort & Club values partnerships with local farmers, ranchers, cheesemakers, and artisan producers who share a commitment to quality and sustainability. Through our culinary and beverage programs, the resort proudly sources ingredients from respected California based partners, helping support regional agriculture and responsible farming practices.
